Looks really good.

Good to see more rifles in the game, especially ones which might perform a little better in the colder weather too.

You won't get a P90 gearbox into a K98 stock and would have to change a few parts to get it to work with an M14 hop as well. Just buy a BAR 10 and drop it into the stock and save yourself a load of hassle and use the spare Dboys parts to make it cosmetically better (sights, bolt handle, bolt release, etc), like Boshman has done on his K98 springers earlier in this thread.

Edit - by the way, there's no need to :spam: another thread with the same question

When I want your opinion - I'll tell you what it is!

Simple, buy a JG BAR-10 and make it into a decent K98 springer!

What a fantastic thread. I've picked up so many tips for PDs K98. Started work on fitting the rear part of the VSR receiver tonight. Hand filed the backstrap to fit into the stock nicely, just like on Boshmans conversion. Hoping to get the dremel out tomorrow and take the interior of the wood down just enough for it to drop into the original stock. It's going to be a long job, but I've got high hopes for it and a few new ideas to try out on some of the receiver cosmetics. Measuring up the amount of bolt left inside when it's in the rearmost position, I reckon I can mill/file the shell loading/ejection hole another 10mm forward and 5mm backwards to mimic closer the genuine receiver and I've got an idea to make the larger chamber ring on it too :)

It is nearly ready:

Rear sight is held on with blutac though  The mag stands proud of the stock by a couple of millimetres, but that can't be helped, as the original laminate stocks are shallower than the Dboys ones.

Just got to attach the rear sight properly and then do the conversion of the rear of the bolt with the Dboys bits. Then it needs all the crappy paint stripping and re-finishing with auto acrylic :D

Thanks to Boshman for his superb photos. Wouldn't have known where to start without them :)

You are very welcome mate! Really looks excellent :good: . what have you decided to do for mag retention?

Used the VSR button magazine catch, just like in your photos. Works like a charm. Mag slot in nice and firmly and clicks into place with no movement. Push the button and you can pull it out easily :) Took a bit of fettling, but it's perfect now.

Nice one! :good: Yeah, its a fiddly job but well worth doing.

Laminated stock looks great BTW , I really loved the one I used on the APS2 conversion I did. I was rather sad to see it go when I sold it on

Rear sight attached and ready for a bit of filler to smooth it off. Paint removed ready for re-spray. Allen bolts in place until it's dismantled, the re-spray is done internally, and it's reassembled, then they'll be filed off and filled.

Not doing any more to it until after the weekend, because the big kid wants it to play with on sunday. Next week, the bolt will get done and the paint.

I'm pleased with it, mate. Got plans to make the main part of the receiver look far more K98, but I can't do them until he's finished playing war with it  and I've got the inside of the receiver sprayed up. I might pretend to be out when he calls round for it

I has been playing wid it for most of da night. I has shot da garden, I has shot da tree and I has shot da fence.
I has shot da bockle on a stick at da top of mine garden. I has shot da dog kennel and I has shot da washing post. I has not shot da dog but I was tempted to shoot da missus. Now it is dark so I haz had to stop shooting wid it.

I shall shoot some more stiff in da morning.

it is fun. I like it. I shal bring it to Aerial and hope it gets under the chrono - cos it seems very shooty!

Bryn is mine frend. I like Bryn and I takes him everywhere wid me. Bryn builds gunz. He is good.

Night night.
